What is FBackup?

Softland, a Romanian company, offers multi-feature backup software FBackup free of charge. Established in 1999, Softland says Backup4all, the premium edition of FBackup, was used on the laptops of the International Space Station’s crew. Unlike other backup software, FBackup has features like backing up files to the cloud, zip compression of backup files, backing up sources from local drives to destinations like mapped network locations or devices connected by USB or Firewire, or using mirror backups for users who want their file copies to be uncompressed and similar to the original file. FBackup works on all Windows platforms has free backup plugins that can restore or back up custom data or specific program settings and is available in more than three dozen languages.

FBackup Benefits

The main benefits of FBackup are its low price tag, its scheduled backups, and its zip compression.

Whether it is being used for commercial purposes or personal ones, users can back up all they want. For businesses, this translates to resources, time, and money saved.

Once defined, a backup task can automatically run on the scheduled dates. Sources can also be backed up and archived using standard zip compression, allowing users to create backup zip files that are over 2GB in size. Password protection can even be added to these zip files.

Connecting FBackup to an existing Google Drive account allows users to back up files and data in the cloud. The user is essentially getting free cloud storage and a free backup program in one go.

Backup plugins that number in the dozens are available to users, and they are all free. With it, custom data like email data or games saves can be backed up and restored. These can also be used to have the specific program settings of installed apps, utilities, and browsers restored.
