What is 3CX?

3CX is an open standard, software-based PBX phone system that can be run on-premises or in the cloud, or virtualized in an organization’s existing servers with the use of Vmware or HyperV. It provides advanced communication features like voicemail and fax delivery through email and the ability to host online meetings and webinars. 3CX is a cost-effective communication solution that allows remote workers to make interoffice phone calls free of charge. Similarly, clients can reach out to a business at a lower rate. The system also eliminates billing and licensing on a per-extension basis, allowing users to save more money. Moreover, the system offers a Click to Call extension that can be added to widely used browsers and existing CRM systems. Last but not the least notable capability of the system is that it supports mobile devices, allowing users to transfer and handle calls from their Android or iOS devices and even view their coworker’s presence from any location.

3CX Benefits

Benefits

The main benefits of 3CX are its built-in configuration templates, easy deployment of the softphone and IP phone upgrades, advanced unified communication features, remote control, screen sharing and classroom capabilities, cost-effectiveness, and its notable Click to Call extension, as well as CRM integration. Here are more details:

Automatic Configuration

3CX allows users to connect supported SIP trunks, gateways, and IP phones to the system. But what is really notable about this solution is that it comes with built-in configuration templates that allow automatic configuration of SIP trunks, IP phones, and gateways. This way, users do not have to spend time and energy dealing with the exhausting configuration job.

Easy Deployment

With just a few clicks on the solution’s management console, users can already deploy new firmware when softphones and IP phones need to be updated. The software also conducts firmware testing prior to deploying upgrades to detect issues which affect interoperability.

Advanced Unified Communication Features

3CX is developed as a unified communication system that covers all the communication needs of a business or organization so they do not have to deal with the hassles of using add-ons, making additional installations, or buying separate software. The system comes with various capabilities like viewing employee presence, hence eliminating the use of costly voicemail tags and unnecessary call transfers. This is particularly beneficial for companies with remote workers. In addition, the system features fax and voicemail delivery and instant messaging. The faxes can be converted into PDFs while the voicemails can be converted into sound files. Both of which can be forwarded through email, allowing users to easily view fax and voicemail through their inbox. 3CX also features cost-effective and easy to set up web conferencing. This feature uses an open source and free technology solution called WebRTC. It activates real-time communications on apps and web browsers through the use of APS, enabling users to conduct webinars or host meetings from anywhere, free of charge.

Remote Control, Screen Sharing, and Classroom Capabilities

The web conferencing feature also gives its users screen sharing, remote control, as well as classroom capabilities. The latter increases web conference engagement by letting participants send feedback and answer surveys. The remote control and screen sharing capabilities, on the other hand, can be used when presenting content from manuals or web navigation related instructions or when demonstrating products online.

Monetary Benefits

3CX offers a plethora of money saving opportunities. Its web conferencing feature minimizes travel costs and reduces communication costs. The phone system also allows remote workers and employees to make work-related calls for free. In addition, the system uses the Direct Inward Dialing (DID) service, giving the business a set of phone numbers that customers can call. The dedicated phone numbers will connect customers to specific employees. The system uses SIP trunk lines which means the calls are handled through the use of internet connection, eliminating the need to set up a physical phone line and deal with expensive telco fees.

CRM Integration and Click to Call Extension

The phone system features a Click to Call extension that users can add to leading browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. This extension is capable of detecting phone numbers that appear on websites, contact lists, emails, and CRM systems automatically, enabling users to make phone calls straight from their CRM interface or the browser. The system also allows users to configure the Click to Call extension to make sure that it will only search valid contact numbers, hence increasing agent’s productivity, improve sales, and strengthen relationships with customers.
