Praxis EMR Benefits
The main benefits of Praxis EMR are its Agents, its Clinical Practice Guideline feature, and its Knowledge Enhancer.
Praxis EMR Agents are AI messengers that allow for quick charting and the sending of reminders to a physician’s staff. Agents are also present in patient’s notes, where they automatically store pertinent medical data and patient information. This is then accessed when a new patient with a similar case is encountered by the physician. Operating on the concept that cases can be classified into rare, identical, and similar but not identical, Agents come up with all the medical records and previous information that is applicable to the new patient so charting can be done quickly and efficiently. Agents can also work as a useful reminder tool for staff as it knows the right time to deliver a message, who to deliver it to, and what conditions must be present for a task to be performed.
Clinical Practice Guidelines can also be accessed by the software. Clinical Practice Guidelines are recommendations and rules that are used by physicians to determine the treatment plans and diagnostic tests for their patients. Queries can also be easily developed by users, even without any previous technical knowledge, thanks to the software data mining tools and query engine. Retrospective queries and prospective queries can both be applied by the software. Retrospective queries allow users to access appropriate recommendations with ease. These recommendations are based on patient type, which is in turn based on ICD-10s and CPTs, results of laboratory data, medications taken, demographic criteria, and results of clinical parameters.
Users can also introduce new recommendations that are independent of retrospective queries, as the software makes accommodations for the unique and different practice styles of doctors. These new recommendations are based on what the user finds appropriate for a particular patient or case. The software then stores this recommendation for future queries, resulting in practitioners improving their practice and delivering the best treatment plans or medications to particular patients or cases, whether they are identical or rare.
Praxis EMR’s Knowledge Exchanger allows users to learn from another user’s practice, as well as to share their knowledge bases with their expert colleagues who are also using Praxis EMR. With Knowledge Enhancer, users can look at an auxiliary library while having their own knowledge base at the same time. Access to these other knowledge bases allows users to add to their own documenting process or methodology, a collaboration that enhances their medical practice.
